Business Analyst II – Process Mapping & Workflow Analysis
100% Remote (CST / EST)
12-month contract
Pay: $45hr - $50hr.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst II with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Visio, process mapping, workflow analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The primary focus of this role is to understand complex business processes, gather information from stakeholders, and translate that information into clear, detailed, and audit-ready process maps and workflow documentation.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience creating process maps directly in Microsoft Visio, strong process improvement skills, and the ability to effectively interview and challenge stakeholders to uncover how processes actually operate. Banking or financial services experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with third-party risk management (TPRM), supplier management, or vendor onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed, accurate, and audit-ready process maps and workflow diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Analyze business processes from end to end, documenting key activities, decision points, inputs, outputs, systems, roles, controls, and dependencies.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate working sessions to gather the information required to accurately document processes.
- Ask targeted and probing questions to uncover process details, clarify ambiguity, and identify gaps or inconsistencies.
- Challenge stakeholder assumptions when appropriate and validate that documented processes accurately reflect actual business practices.
- Analyze existing workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, redundancies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Translate complex business information into clear, structured, and easy-to-understand process documentation.
- Collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to review, validate, and finalize process maps.
- Support documentation and analysis of processes related to third-party vendor/supplier onboarding and third-party risk management.
- Ensure process documentation appropriately reflects applicable controls, regulatory considerations, and governance requirements.
- Maintain and update process documentation as workflows, systems, policies, and business requirements evolve.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of strong hands-on Microsoft Visio experience.
- Must have personally created detailed process maps and workflows in Visio; candidates whose experience is limited to reviewing or consuming Visio diagrams will not be a strong fit.
- Demonstrated ability to create clear, professional, and audit-ready process documentation.
- Strong understanding of process flow notation, workflow diagrams, decision points, swim lanes, and related process-mapping techniques.
2. Process & Workflow Expertise – Second Priority
- Strong experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and process improvement.
- Ability to understand and document complex processes end to end.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, redundancies, risks, and dependencies.
- Ability to challenge assumptions and ask the right questions when information is incomplete or inconsistent.
- Strong stakeholder interviewing, facilitation, requirements-gathering, and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple stakeholders and translate it into accurate process documentation.
3. Banking / Financial Services Experience – Third Priority
- Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), supplier management, or vendor onboarding is a major plus.
- Understanding of the importance of regulatory requirements, internal controls, risk management, governance, and audit-ready documentation.
- Experience working in environments where process accuracy, documentation, controls, and regulatory compliance are critical.
