Job summary

Paradigm Technology is seeking a Business Analyst for a client in the Public Utility sector. This is a 1–2 year+ on-site contract in the Chattanooga, TN area with occasional travel to Knoxville, TN. Responsibilities include identifying information needs, documenting business processes, and proposing system improvements.

Strong emphasis on SDLC/Agile/DevOps and effective communication. Qualified candidates will have 4–6 years of Business Analysis experience, and familiarity with Microsoft 365,

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of Business Analysis experience.
• Communication and facilitation skills are critical.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the identification of business critical internal and external information and knowledge, its usage, availability and the needs of the various constituencies that may require such information or knowledge.
• Understand and document related business processes through interviews, joint application design sessions, data mining, and general insights.
• Recognize areas for improvement in business processes and develop systems requirement documents that can be translated into system specifications.
• Document business process flow and information/data flow to ensure system integration and minimize duplication.
• Develop conceptual data and process designs and data flows, create prototypes for requirements gathering and verification, and complete business systems requirements studies.

Job description

Paradigm Technology is seeking a Business Analyst for our client (Public Utility). This is a one to two year+ contract and requires being on site in Chattanooga, TN/Knoxville twice a month for a few days.

Responsibilities

Oversee the identification of business critical internal and external information and knowledge, its usage, availability and the needs of the various constituencies that may require such information or knowledge.

Able, through interviews, joint application design sessions, data mining, and general insights, to understand and document related business processes.

Recognize areas for improvement in business processes and develop systems requirement documents that can be easily translated into a systems specification by a system or programmer analyst.

Perform the following activities: business process flow: documentation and re-engineering information and data flow: documentation ensures business system integration, minimizing data and process duplication.

Develop conceptual data and process designs and data flows creates working prototypes to aid in requirements gathering and verification completes business systems requirements studies, including documentation (system prospectus).

Determine and evaluate system alternatives to meet business needs conducts cost/benefit studies for system development or implementation projects.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of Business Analysis experience
• Communication and facilitation skills are critical
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not necessary
• Live in the Knoxville/Chattanooga region
• Microsoft 365 - required
• Copilot- prefer experience
• Visio Desktop or Lucidchart or something similar - preferred
• ADO or similar tool - preferred
• Service Now or other ticketing/tracking software – preferred
• Systems Analysis (ability to read and update system, data flow, integrations, and architectural diagrams)
• SDLC/Agile/DevOps
• Basic UX/UI Awareness
