Job description

The Graphic Cow | Greenville, SC | Full-Time | In Office

$70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience

The Graphic Cow is looking for an experienced Business Administration Manager to take ownership of the administrative backbone of our business.

This is a hands-on business administration role for a dependable, highly organized professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats. The Business Administration Manager will help keep the company's day-to-day administrative operations running smoothly, with responsibility spanning accounting, human resources administration, office and facilities management, licensing and compliance, and vendor relationships.

The right person will enjoy the variety that comes with working in a privately held business. On any given day, you might work on month-end accounting, resolve an accounts receivable issue, coordinate an employee benefit question, work with an outside professional partner, complete a licensing requirement, or improve an internal process.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who likes having broad responsibility, independence, and ownership rather than working within a narrowly defined corporate function.

What You'll Be Responsible For -
  • Manage most day-to-day accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit-card reconciliations, cash management, customer collections, journal entries/general ledger maintenance, payroll accounting, and management reporting.
  • Own the company's internal month-end accounting preparation and coordinate with our outside accounting firm to complete the monthly close.
  • Oversee accounts receivable activities across related entities.
  • Manage weekly payroll and related accounting entries.
  • Manage sales tax reporting, compliance, and payments across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with outside accounting, tax, and software partners.
Human Resources Administration
  • Serve as the company's primary internal HR administrator.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, payroll administration, employee records, benefits enrollment and administration, workers' compensation, and other employment-related processes.
  • Administer health insurance and 401(k) programs.
  • Work with our outside HR consultant on compliance, policies, and strategic HR matters.
Office & Business Administration
  • Help ensure the day-to-day administrative operations of the company and Greenville headquarters run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage selected vendor relationships, service providers, contracts, office supplies, and other administrative needs.
  • Coordinate company insurance policies, renewals, and related requirements.
  • Maintain organized administrative records, processes, schedules, and recurring deadlines.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for administrative matters involving employees, management, vendors, and outside professional partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and simplify or automate recurring work.
  • Take ownership of the many miscellaneous administrative responsibilities that arise in a privately held business and ensure they are handled appropriately and on time.
Licensing & Compliance
  • Manage collegiate and other product licensing administration, including applications and renewals, artwork approvals, royalty calculations and reporting, payments, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate administration of company trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property with outside partners.
What We're Looking For -
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or a similar role involving multiple administrative functions, such as office management.
  • Solid working knowledge of small-business accounting, with hands‑on experience in several areas such as A/P, A/R, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, payroll, general ledger activity, and month‑end preparation.
  • Experience administering payroll and working with accounting and payroll systems.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple responsibilities and recurring deadlines.
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Especially Valuable
  • Experience in a privately held small or mid‑sized business where you've worn multiple hats.
  • HR administration and employee benefits experience.
  • Sales tax reporting and compliance experience.
  • Licensing, royalty reporting, intellectual property, or other compliance-related experience.
  • Experience improving administrative processes or internal controls.
  • Apparel, screen printing, or promotional products industry experience is helpful but not required.
Who Will Thrive in This Role? -

We're looking for someone who takes ownership and who enjoys organization and process.

You’ll be successful here if you enjoy wearing multiple hats, anticipate what needs to be done, follow through, and are comfortable moving between accounting, HR, office operations, compliance, vendors, and special projects.

Most importantly, you are the kind of person others can depend on to make sure important financial, HR, licensing, and administrative responsibilities don’t fall through the cracks.

Compensation & Benefits -
  • Salary: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Supplemental dental, vision, disability, and other benefits
  • Company-paid holidays
