Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher in Raleigh, NC to coordinate daily bus routes, driver assignments, and departures. The role requires a valid CDL Class B with P Endorsement and at least 2 years of driving experience or 3 years if 20 years old, with a flexible part-time schedule.

You will manage real-time driver communications, route adjustments, and safety-focused fleet operations in collaboration with supervisory staff.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class B with P Endorsement and be able to meet background and motor vehicle checks.
• Knowledge of commercial passenger vehicle rules and safety certifications (BLS, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen) within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in dispatch, transportation, or logistics preferred (1+ year).

Responsibilities

• Assign drivers to routes and monitor daily departures/returns.
• Maintain real-time communication with drivers to handle route adjustments or emergencies.
• Log vehicle movements and incidents; prepare dispatch reports and daily records.
• Coordinate with Transportation Supervisor and Fleet Superintendent on service issues.
• Serve as substitute bus driver when needed to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Support onboarding and scheduling of drivers; ensure on-time service.
