Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a part-time bus aide to support students on assigned routes in Pembroke, KY. You will help students board, buckle seat belts, secure car seats, and ensure safety during transport with supervision and guidance from the driver and school staff.

Responsibilities include monitoring behavior, reporting concerns, and communicating clearly with students, parents, teachers, and staff. Training is provided, and the role emphasizes inclusivity and safety for all riders.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to pass background check, CORI/SORI, and drug screen.
• Effective English communication (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students as needed, helping them enter/exit the vehicle and secure them in car seats or boosters.
• Monitor student behavior to provide guidance and direction.
• Report unsafe or inappropriate behavior to management and follow corrective steps.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers, and Butler's Bus staff.
• Use Butler's Bus two-way radio system to coordinate with the team.
• Demonstrate ability to install car seats and follow written and verbal directions.
• Show willingness to work with school-age children with special needs.

What We Offer

• 20-25 hours per week
• $18.00 an hour
• Split Shifts- 5:30am-9:00am & 1:00pm-5:00pm (example only, exact hours depend on assigned route)

What You'll Be doing

• Safely assist students as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle's lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats. Lifting may be required.
• Monitor student behavior to provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.
• Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management; follow directions and implement corrective steps as assigned.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in (English) with students, parents, teachers, and Butler's Bus staff.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while using Butler's Bus two-way radio system.
• Must have the physical capability to safely install car seats and booster seats.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to work effectively with school age children with special needs.
