Job summary

Beacon Mobility, a Massachusetts school transportation provider, is hiring a part-time Bus Monitor. The role offers 20-25 hours per week at $18.00 per hour, with split shifts from early morning to late afternoon.

Training is provided, and benefits include a 401(k) plan, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance. You will assist students safely, help them board and secure seats, monitor behavior, and communicate clearly with staff, parents, and teachers.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a background check (CORI/SORI) and drug screen.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to work early morning and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist students entering/exiting the vehicle and securing seats.
• Monitor student behavior and report issues to management.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers and staff.
• Follow supervisor directions and use safety equipment as required.

This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats. Lifting may be required.Monitor student behavior to provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management; follow directions and implement corrective steps as assigned.Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in (English) with students, parents, teachers, and Butler's Bus staff.Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while using Butler's Bus two-way radio system.Must have the physical capability to safely install car seats and booster seats.
