Job summary

The American Museum of Natural History is seeking a part-time Bus Greeter in the Transportation department in New York, NY. The role greets buses, guides drivers, and coordinates loading/unloading of school groups.

Responsibilities include directing pick-up/drop-off, keeping logs, and assisting with parking and event operations. Salary is $20/hour and the position is overtime-eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with traffic management/control.
• Professional experience working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Greet buses and school groups as they arrive at the Museum.
• Give drivers instructions on pick-up and drop-off procedures.
• Guide teachers to correct entrances.
• Assign drivers a return time.
• Facilitate the loading of buses upon departure.
• Keep daily logs of buses/school groups.
• Set up traffic cones and signs.
• Coordinate patrols of the Museum perimeter to ensure compliance with Museum and DOT regulations.
• Supervise and control driveway traffic.
• Assist with visitor and employee parking, as well as event parking operations.
