Job summary

The American Museum of Natural History is seeking a full-time Bus Greeter in the Transportation department to welcome buses and school groups, direct drivers, and assist with parking and traffic management on site.

The role requires guest-service experience, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and some traffic-control experience. The position is based in New York and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Experience with traffic management/control preferred.
• Professional experience working with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet buses and school groups as they arrive at the Museum.
• Give drivers instructions on pick-up and drop-off procedures.
• Guide teachers to correct entrances.
• Assign drivers a return time.
• Facilitate the loading of buses upon departure.
• Keep daily logs of buses/school groups.
• Set up traffic cones and signs.
• Coordinate patrols of the Museum perimeter to ensure compliance with Museum and DOT regulations.
• Supervise and control driveway traffic.
• Assist with visitor and employee parking, as well as event parking operations.
