Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a Nurse Extern to assist nursing staff in patient care within the Burn Unit in Memphis, TN. You will perform selected nursing tasks under supervision, contribute to care plans, collect specimens, and help with daily living activities, while documenting patient responses and maintaining unit records.

The role emphasizes patient safety, infection control, and adherence to policies. CPR/BLS certification and enrollment in an approved nursing program are required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an approved nursing program and completed fundamentals of nursing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Qualified to work with neonate through geriatric patient populations as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care activities under supervision according to policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient records, documents care and patient responses, and participates in care planning.
• Takes and records vital signs and collects specimens as directed.
• Provides direct patient care, ambulation assistance, hygiene and daily living activities.
• Communicates patient needs and unit activities to the care team and follows safety protocols.
