Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN is seeking a Nurse Extern to support nursing staff in patient care under supervision. You will perform selected nursing tasks, monitor vital signs, and assist with care plans while maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient safety.

Applicants must be enrolled in an approved nursing program, hold CPR/BLS certification, and have at least 1 year of related patient-care experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an approved nursing program and have completed fundamentals of nursing.
• Qualified to work with diverse patient populations as assigned.
• Must provide proof of continuous enrollment to maintain employment.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• At least 1 year experience in patient care or equivalent on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Participates and performs selected activities and nursing care as assigned and according to established policies and procedures.
• Takes and records patient’s vital signs and monitors patient status.
• Assists in developing and revising Nursing Care Plans.
• Performs clerical duties in a patient unit as related to admissions, discharges, and records.
• Delivers activities of daily living and maintains fluid intake/output.
• Observes patient responses and reports changes to appropriate staff.
