Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corporation in Ohio seeks a Minors Operator to follow scheduled recipes and supply ingredients to the Mixer, weighing all ingredients accurately to maintain quality.

The role requires 1+ year in manufacturing, a High School diploma or GED, and willingness to work overtime including weekends. The position is 2nd shift, 2:45pm–11:00pm, at $18/hour plus a $1.00/hour shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled recipes and supply ingredients for each recipe to the Mixer Operator.
• Weigh all ingredients accurately and consistently.
• Transfer material from bulk bags or supersacks to smaller paper or poly bags to a precise weight.
• Maintain proper inventory control of raw materials and finished products.
• Label skids, boxes and complete applicable paperwork.
• Perform monthly inventory counts and ensure safety procedures are followed.

What Success Looks Like:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Necessity for attention to detail.
• The ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
• Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
• Transfer material from bulk bags or “supersacks” to smaller paper or poly bags to a more precise weight that can be handled efficiently at the mixer
• Typically target weights of 30-50lbs.
• Communicate with additional staff members
• Responsible for weighing of materials
• Proper inventory control of raw materials and finished products
• Properly label skids, boxes and fill out any applicable paperwork
• Perform monthly inventory count
• Following all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures
• Operating a forklift for various functions.

Your Credentials:

• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• High School or GED preferred
• Willing to work overtime including weekends
• Knowledge of general computer skills.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour, plus $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
