Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Minors Operator in Ohio to follow scheduled recipes, weigh ingredients, and prepare materials for the mixer, ensuring precise weights and quality control.

The role requires attention to detail, basic computer skills, and a willingness to work overtime, including weekends, with a starting hourly rate of $18 and a 1st shift schedule (6:45am-3:00pm).

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High School or GED preferred.
• Willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Knowledge of general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled recipes and supply ingredients for each recipe to the Mixer Operator.
• Weigh all ingredients accurately and consistently.
• Transfer material from bulk bags or supersacks to smaller bags at precise weights for the mixer.
• Target weights typically 30-50lbs.
• Communicate with additional staff members.
• Responsible for weighing of materials.
• Proper inventory control of raw materials and finished products.
• Label skids, boxes and complete paperwork.
• Perform monthly inventory counts.
• Follow safety procedures and update procedures as needed.
• Operate a forklift for various functions.

What Success Looks Like:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Necessity for attention to detail.
• The ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
• Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
• Transfer material from bulk bags or “supersacks” to smaller paper or poly bags to a more precise weight that can be handled efficiently at the mixer
• Typically target weights of 30-50lbs.
• Communicate with additional staff members
• Responsible for weighing of materials
• Proper inventory control of raw materials and finished products
• Properly label skids, boxes and fill out any applicable paperwork
• Perform monthly inventory count
• Following all safety procedures and guidelines along with assisting in modifying and updating procedures
• Operating a forklift for various functions.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour
