Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for our Washington, DC office for Summer 2027. You will gain exposure to structural design for commercial, institutional, and residential projects and support the team from concept through construction.

You will develop skills in modeling, field review, and documentation, while working with experienced engineers in a collaborative environment and contributing to real projects during the internship.

Qualifications

• Current 3rd year undergraduate or graduate student in Civil or Architectural Engineering focusing on structures.
• Steel and concrete design coursework completed or in progress.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel; familiarity with engineering software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept to construction.
• Perform field reviews and document existing conditions of buildings.
• Become familiar with engineering plans and details; support computer modeling and hand calculations.
