Job summary

Primera seeks a Buildings Electrical Engineer (PE) in Chicago to advance your electrical engineering career on diverse built-environment projects. You will design lighting, power, and fire alarm systems and support drawings and specifications.

With a bachelor’s in electrical or architectural engineering and FE, plus 3+ years of experience, you’ll collaborate with project teams, perform site surveys, and review shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering is required.
• FE licensure is required.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in lighting, power, and fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office; knowledge of electrical calculation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
• Create electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm drawings and schedules.
• Review electrical shop drawings and assess probable costs for equipment.
• Conduct field surveys and coordinate with clients and vendors.
