Job summary

BKV Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Chicago, IL (or Dallas, TX) to lead electrical design for multi-family, commercial, and civic projects. You will guide the team, coordinate with other disciplines, and drive quality across projects.

The position requires a PE license, 10+ years of building systems experience, and proficiency with Revit. It also demands strong communication, mentorship, and adherence to NEC/IBC/ASHRAE codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• Minimum of 10 years of focused electrical building systems design experience (power, lighting, life safety).
• Proficient with Autodesk Revit for electrical design and documentation.
• Knowledge of NEC, energy codes (ASHRAE/IECC), IBC, and local codes.
• Strong communication and leadership to mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Engineer compliant, energy-efficient power, lighting, and life-safety systems.
• Lead electrical design calculations, models, and construction documents.
• Coordinate electrical design with architecture, structure, mechanical, interior design, and PM teams.
• Support construction administration: review submittals, RFIs, and field conditions.
• Mentor project engineers, designers, and junior staff.
