Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and analyze electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects in Chicago. You will work on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communications systems, and roadway lighting while ensuring code compliance and sustainability.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant design experience; proficiency in Revit, SKM, and AGI32 is essential. PE or EIT with PE intent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; master's is a plus.
• PE license preferred or EIT with intent to pursue PE.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience on building and infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with BIM modeling and construction documents in Revit.
• Experience with SKM for protection and coordination studies.
• Experience with AGI32 for lighting calculations.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and local codes; energy efficiency.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communications.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection design using SKM and other tools.
• Create lighting layouts and perform lighting calculations using AGI32 and Revit.
• Model electrical systems and produce construction documents and BIM models in Revit.
• Design highway and roadway lighting systems to meet standards.
• Prepare specifications, equipment schedules, and takeoffs; review submittals.
• Support project delivery by estimating work effort and assisting bids.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure NEC and local code compliance; incorporate energy efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate with clients and teams.
