Job summary

Tallahassee State College seeks a Technical Educator Instructor for Building and Trades at the Santa Rosa Annex in Milton, FL. This full-time, grant-funded role involves delivering NCCER-aligned curricula, guiding students toward industry certifications, and maintaining records.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant occupational experience, and will participate in professional development and collaboration with Florida DOC/Vocational projects.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in the vocation being taught or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution, and two years of occupational experience in the vocation being taught; or additional education or training may substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required experience.
• High school diploma or its equivalent or a Bachelor’s degree with occupational experience in the vocation being taught.

Responsibilities

• Teach an appropriate career/technical education program through lectures, group, or individual instruction.
• Deliver Building and Trades Preparation through lectures, demonstrations, and tests.
• Guide and advise students on academic and career pathways.
• Complete paperwork and maintain accurate attendance and certification records.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
