Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Building Engineer to monitor and maintain building systems across plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and safety.

You will perform preventive maintenance, address repairs, ensure compliance with codes, and uphold safety standards to deliver reliable facility operations. The role emphasizes energy management, adherence to policies, and collaboration with teams to optimize building performance while aligning with CBRE's RI SE values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience.
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility and building.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
• Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review inspections to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with the company's RISE values.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
