Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer in Dallas, TX to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling.

You will support preventive maintenance, ensure safety compliance, and optimize energy use while following CBRE policies and environmental standards. The role requires 4–5 years of related experience, high school diploma or trade school, and strong organizational and math skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred; Licenses as may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills for percentages, fractions, and other calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Keep facilities and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to meet/exceed rated life and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design intent and environmental conditions.
• Apply knowledge to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge; lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information; support cross-team collaboration.
