Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in the United States to monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and control systems. The role supports preventive maintenance and repairs across facilities to meet safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities include energy management, code compliance, and assisting with preventive maintenance programs while leading by example and sharing expertise with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school with 4–5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses may be required by local authorities.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems, keeping facilities within standards.
• Comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Review building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for proper operation and environmental conditions.
• Share knowledge and coach others within the team.
