Job summary

Farbman Group is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting building systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for tenants and staff.

You will perform routine inspections, respond to service requests, coordinate with vendors, and help manage maintenance budgets while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in building engineering or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in commercial properties.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with safety standards and building codes.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on‑call and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Respond promptly to building service requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and disruptions
• Monitor building systems and equipment for efficiency and proper operation
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment status, and inventory
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Assist in the preparation and management of maintenance budgets
