Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Charlottesville seeks an entry-level Commissioning Engineer I to help deliver energy-efficient building solutions and support project commissioning activities. You will coordinate tests, assist in documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client goals.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, understand building systems, and can apply safety and quality standards on site in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited program.
• Broad understanding of building systems with knowledge in HVAC, plumbing/equipment, electrical, or controls.
• Familiarity with codes, guidelines, and standards for commissioning, design, and construction.
• Experience with engineering calculation software and CAD/BIM tools.
• Valid driver’s license and state vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate system test procedures for projects.
• Organize user training sessions and document training outcomes.
• Administer functional performance tests and observe field work.
• Attend progress meetings and support document control.
• Assist in project administration and data management.
