Job summary

Brooklyn Equities 11 is seeking a live-in Superintendent for a 50 or 96 unit building in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The role covers maintenance, repairs, and on-site supervision with an 8am-4:30pm schedule and 24/7 on-call availability.

The candidate should have strong handyman skills, basic plumbing/electrical knowledge, and be able to communicate via phone/text and manage digital work orders. A benefits package includes PTO, a company phone, and utilities support.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections and minor repairs of common areas from roof to basement.
• Repairs inside tenant apartments: painting, plastering, tiling, faucet repairs, cabinet installation, light woodwork.
• Super will assist with cleaning and garbage when no porter is on duty.
• On-site availability 8:00–16:30, Mon-Fri; on-call 24/7 for emergencies.

Job description

We are hiring a live-in Superintendent for either a 50 or 96 unit building in FLATBUSH, Brooklyn on OCEAN AVENUE. Buildings are 6 story elevator buildings with commercial boilers that run on gas but there is also #2 oil tank in reserve on site. The right candidate will have great handyman/carpentry skills and basic knowledge of light plumbing and electrical.

A one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment will be supplied after 60-90 day discretionary probation period. Pay rate is $22-28/hr depending on experience. Additional benefits include, 10 days PTO during spring/summer months, company cell phone, a cable/phone/home internet package.

Must be able to communicate by phone and text and complete digital work orders through a cell phone app.

Day to day duties include regular inspections and minor repairs of the common areas from the roof to the basement. Repairs inside tenant apartments which include painting, plastering, tiling, flushometer/showerbody/faucet repairs, cabinet installation, minor woodwork.

Super will also be responsible for cleaning and garbage when there is no porter on duty.

Landlord visits the property often so the ideal candidate must be available on site working full time 8a-4:30p Mon-Fri and on call 24/7 for emergencies. All external or secondary jobs must be done after hours and on your own time. Contracting extra work with current tenants is not authorized.
