Job summary

Newmark is seeking a Building Operations Engineer to maintain and repair site systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. The role requires routine preventative maintenance, coordination with contractors, and responsive support to tenant safety needs.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in building operations, CFC certification, and strong computer skills. You will work on-site, ensure safe operations, and support after-hours emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years previous building operations engineering experience.
• Must be CFC certified in high pressure discipline.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.
• Holds any necessary/required licenses.
• Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building operating systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
• Be familiar with life safety, fire protection, and security systems and act on abnormal conditions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on systems and components (air handling, pumps, plumbing, cooling).
• Respond to tenant requests for safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental needs.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs; use work order systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, tenants and management for outside work; maintain log details.
• Ensure safety of tenants and continuous site operation; follow operating procedures.
• Assist in snow and ice removal and coordination of external vendors.
