Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Building Operations Section Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for continuous operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical building and utility systems. You will partner with maintenance, engineering, and project teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, or related field; five years of facility operations experience or nine years without degree.
• Experience leading skilled trades, technicians, or other professionals.
• Working knowledge of central utility and building mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems.
• Experience with preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, outages, and emergency response.
• Proficiency with CMMS and ability to analyze reliability trends and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for 24/7/365 building operations and central utility plant operations.
• Oversee BAS controls, HVAC systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and project teams to plan work and minimize impact on operations.
• Lead safety, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop workforce, set priorities, and manage resources for continuous facility operations.
