Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking an Assistant Group Supervisor for Mission Area Operations to lead financial planning, staffing, and operational support for RED Mission Area projects.

You will partner with senior staff to align priorities, mentor teams, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring effective stewardship of resources and successful execution of deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Understanding of UARC business practices and applicable government regulations.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff; cultivate relationships across the organization.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Mission Area Business Manager and operations advisor to Mission Area leadership, providing guidance for financial management and business operations.
• Partner with the RA2 Group Supervisor and Mission Area leadership to define, align, and execute the group’s strategic vision.
• Partner with the Financial Management and Operations Management Section Supervisors to ensure the successful execution of Mission Area deliverables and work products.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to the Mission Area's Financial Management and Operations Management teams in coordination with Section Supervisors.
• Lead the Mission Area's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities.
• Promote clear and effective communication across operations disciplines to ensure alignment and seamless execution of contractual, proposal, operations, and financial management tasks.
• Lead the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of key Mission Area financial and operational metrics to support executive decision-making.
• Oversee workforce planning and resource allocation across the Mission Area's operations organization.
• Cultivate exceptional partnerships with APL Enterprise Service Departments to support and enable the advancement of RED Mission Area priorities.
• Lead or support strategic Department initiatives and special projects that advance REDD's operational excellence and long-term objectives.
