Job summary

The Town of Eagle is seeking a Building Official to manage enforcement of adopted building codes and oversee the Building Department within the Community Development team. You will lead inspections, plan reviews, permit issuance, and ensure safety and compliance across all town buildings and sites.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, aligning code interpretations, coordinating with the Town Manager and fire and public safety partners, and maintaining records while advancing professional

Qualifications

• Proven experience interpreting and enforcing building codes.
• Experience managing a small department with staff development.
• Strong communication and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of Building Department policies and service standards.
• Schedule and conduct inspections of residential and commercial structures for code compliance.
• Review construction plans in field and office for adequacy and conformance to codes.
• Prepare permits and Certificates of Occupancy.
• Investigate code violations and testify in hearings or court as needed.
• Maintain department records and provide monthly reports.
