Job summary

The Town of Eagle seeks a Building Official to manage enforcement of adopted building codes and oversee a small Building Department. You will lead policy development, conduct complex inspections, review plans for compliance, and provide guidance to contractors and residents.

You will supervise the Building Inspector and Permit Technician, ensure safety and code compliance, and collaborate with the Community Development Director on long-term department objectives and training."

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ICC Building Official certification strongly preferred or able to obtain within two years of hire.
• Minimum four years as a building inspector; knowledge of municipal planning and building processes desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of Building Department policies and service standards.
• Schedule and conduct inspections of offices, residences, and commercial buildings for code compliance.
• Review plans in field and office for code conformity; advise on plumbing, heating, and other changes.
