Join Schneider Electric’s Building Automation team as a BAS/BMS Controls Engineer and play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting building automation and control systems for complex commercial, healthcare, life sciences, industrial, mission-critical, and institutional facilities.
This role is ideal for an experienced building automation professional who understands HVAC systems and can independently take ownership of the engineering portion of BAS/BMS projects from design and submittals through construction support and project execution. You’ll work closely with customers, contractors, consultants, project managers, and engineering teams while helping deliver high-quality, construction-ready controls solutions.
What will you do?
- Serve as the lead controls design engineer on medium to large BAS/BMS projects.
- Develop and coordinate controls designs, system architectures, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Manage controls submittals, material ordering, equipment selection, and engineering deliverables.
- Support projects throughout design, construction, and execution.
- Review and incorporate project changes and change orders into engineering packages.
- Identify issues or deficiencies in contract drawings and drive resolution through RFIs and coordination with customers, consultants, and trades.
- Attend customer, contractor, consultant, and project coordination meetings and independently manage engineering action items.
- Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings and represent the engineering team.
- Apply HVAC best practices and ASHRAE standards when developing control system designs.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and alternate technical solutions that improve cost, constructability, and system performance.
- Coordinate with BIM teams and support controls activities within BIM models.
- Conduct site audits and field walkthroughs and translate findings into construction-ready designs and submittals.
- Utilize engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Design 360, Prometheus, and other applicable applications.
- Manage multiple active projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What will make you successful?
