Schneider Electric is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer specializing in Building Management System (BMS) Controls and Automation in the Charlotte, NC area. The candidate will be responsible for the technical oversight of BMS project design, implementation, and commissioning, ensuring compatibility and integration with existing Building Automation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Project Managers in the execution of projects.
- Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and design BMS solutions tailored to their needs.
- Managing project schedules, materials, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Overseeing the installation, configuration, and testing of BMS components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Coordinating other project team activities on site, including coordination with other trades, commissioning agents, and customers.
- Working under direct supervision of a Project Manager, reporting into a Program or Operations Manager.
- Ensuring daily site activities comply with project timelines and communicating progress to the project manager.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise during implementation and post‑commissioning phases.
Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, project engineering or related field, or equivalent experience (4‑6 years in related fields).
- Experience in project engineering within BMS, controls, and automation.
- Proficiency with software tools such as MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Proficiency with cloud‑based collaboration platforms like Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication, organizational, time‑management, problem‑solving, and project management skills; willingness to learn and positive attitude.
