• Minimum two-year work experience in building construction/trades and knowledge of essential building codes.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in building construction, or one year as Building Inspector in municipal government.
• HS Diploma or GED required; trade school/associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors, architects, engineers, and property owners with construction codes and inspections.
• Conduct inspections of structures at various stages of construction to verify code compliance.
• Issue formal Correction Notices when field work deviates from plans or codes.
• Log inspection data and notes into the city's permit tracking system.
• Coordinate with internal staff and external stakeholders to align inspection workflows.
