Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Montana driver's license or ability to obtain within sixty days.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and State/Federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and applications for field inspection and inspect buildings to ensure code compliance.
• Inspect existing buildings for change of use, occupancy, or compliance with codes.
• Coordinate inspection activities with other City departments and ensure all requirements are met before issuing occupancy certificates.
• Compute permit fees and approve issuance of permits.
• Explain and interpret requirements to architects, contractors and the public.
