Job summary

Bunnell Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Building Inspector to act as a field representative ensuring construction complies with approved plans, codes, and local ordinances. You will inspect residential, commercial, and industrial sites, document findings, and ensure safety and code compliance under the Codes and Education group.

The ideal candidate has strong construction knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work outdoors in all seasons, with relevant ICC/ACI

Qualifications

• Must possess ICC or ACI certifications depending on inspection specialty.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years or older; able to work outdoors in all weather and stand prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of structural elements across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Test and verify construction materials and methods.
• Review plans and specifications for Code compliance (IBC/IRC/IECC and local amendments).
• Identify, document, and communicate deviations or non-conformances to contractors and project managers.
• Prepare daily electronic field reports and final sign-off documentation for the building official.
