Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking a Building Inspector to serve as a field representative ensuring compliance with approved plans, codes, and local ordinances. You will inspect residential, commercial, and industrial projects, with emphasis on IBC, IRC, and local amendments.

The ideal candidate has construction experience, strong code knowledge, and excellent communication skills, and is comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in construction and knowledge of building codes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Highly organized and comfortable with field technology.

Responsibilities

• Field Inspections: conduct continuous and periodic inspections of structural elements.
• Testing & Sampling: perform field testing of construction materials.
• Plan & Spec Review: read and interpret complex blueprints and reports.
• Discrepancy Reporting: identify and report deviations to relevant stakeholders.
• Documentation: prepare detailed daily electronic field reports and final sign-off docs.
