Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Milwaukee to monitor, maintain, and repair building system operations including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other facilities. The role supports preventive maintenance programs and ensures compliance with codes and safety standards.

You will contribute to energy management, perform emergency repairs, and assist with system optimization while adhering to CBRE policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of job-related experience (preferred).
• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma (or equivalent).
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Physical requirement: ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Ensure facility systems meet applicable codes and safety standards.
• Maintain an energy management program for efficient operation.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow safety policies for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
• Inspect building systems (HVAC, fire alarms, plumbing) for proper operation.
• Apply standard principles to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach and share knowledge across the team and related disciplines.
• Lead by example, align with CBRE RISE values, and build consensus.
• Explain complex information to stakeholders.
