Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems such as plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. You will support preventive maintenance and operate within CBRE safety directives.

You will review building systems like fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure performance meets client environmental conditions while applying standard engineering practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, walking, stairs/climbs, lifting 50 lbs).
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives for building operations.
• Maintain an energy management program and optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean workplace.
• Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design compliance.
• Share knowledge across disciplines and coach others.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values; build consensus.
• Impact customer, operational, project or service activities within teams.
• Explain complex information clearly to stakeholders.
