Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Memphis, TN is seeking a Building Enclosure Staff Associate to support building enclosure consulting projects. You will gain hands-on field experience in testing, inspections, and report preparation while collaborating with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams.

You will learn to interpret drawings, perform site observations, and assist with CAD work, testing protocols, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), or related field.
• 0 years of related experience required.
• Certifications may be required depending on the type of testing performed. The following certifications would go a long way: Engineer-in-Training (EIT), IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP)
• Basic knowledge of building science & infrastructure principles and applications.
• Basic knowledge of building materials, construction practices, and building systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, supervisors, and field personnel both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support testing, inspections, and consulting services on building enclosure projects.
• Conduct site observations and inspections with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist with drafting or CAD work and interpreting drawings.
• Develop testing protocols and document site observations in field reports.
• Assist with analysis of field observations and testing results to support project conclusions.
• Develop familiarity with building codes including IBC and local codes related to building enclosure systems.
