Job summary

Engineering Consulting Service (ECS) seeks a Building Enclosure Assistant Staff Associate in Fredericksburg, VA to support building enclosure projects and gain hands-on field experience. You will work with experienced consultants, assist with testing, field investigations, and report preparation within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include documenting QA observations, attending meetings, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), Civil (Structural) Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Certifications may be required: EIT, IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP).
• Basic knowledge of building science and infrastructure principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform building science and infrastructure related testing and consulting services.
• Assist with specialized building enclosure testing.
• Document QA observations and prepare field reports of findings.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of IBC and local building codes relating to building enclosure.
• Interact with staff and project teams; attend project meetings.
• Interface with contractors and site personnel daily.
• Prioritize tasks with supervisor; assist in report writing with senior staff.
