Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Associate to join our Southeast Building Science + Infrastructure team in Birmingham, AL. You will support enclosure consulting projects through field investigations, testing, analysis, and report preparation, collaborating with senior staff to deliver practical client solutions.

The role offers hands-on field experience, technical growth, and mentorship in a collaborative environment with opportunities to lead projects and develop

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or Architecture (NCARB).
• 2+ years of related building enclosure consulting experience.
• Licenses/certifications such as P.E., RA, IIBEC (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support building science & infrastructure testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations of roofing and enclosure systems.
• Interpret drawings and site plans; assist with CAD work when needed.
• Participate in testing protocols development and test plans.
• Interpret test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with forensic assessments, commissioning, and enclosure investigations.
• Contribute to design reviews and peer review of specifications.
• Maintain familiarity with IBC, ASHRAE, ASTM, and CSI codes.
