Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an engineer to design, configure, and operate comprehensive building control systems, including fire, security, and low voltage subsystems. You’ll develop software, perform commissioning, and deliver detailed submittals to customers and field teams.

Responsibilities include crafting operation sequences, coordinating drawings, and managing material orders while ensuring safety and schedule adherence. Travel will be regular as part of project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 3 years' experience.
• Knowledge of construction or HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation subsystems.
• Experience with JCI software programming.
• Experience integrating low voltage subsystems using industry protocols (LON, BACnet).
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong CAD/drafting tool skills and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures, and operates complete building control systems (fire, security, lighting, data networks) per project requirements.
• Develops software programs and performs commissioning to ensure proper system operation.
• Produces submittals and communicates design/ops to customers, field teams, and subcontractors.
• Travel is required for this role.
• Acts in coordination with field teams to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs.
• Supports factory-mounting and site commissioning activities.
• Assists in creating as-built drawings and project documentation.
