Job summary

Divcon, headquartered in Dallas, TX, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support building automation and controls projects from installation through turnover. The role emphasizes coordinating field activities, documentation, and budgeting support.

Under supervision of a Project Manager, you will help maintain schedules, coordinate subcontractors, review submittals, and assist with billing and progress reporting. This is a transitional path toward a full Project Manager role.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in construction, project coordination, or related field (BAS, MEP, HVAC preferred).
• Experience supporting project execution and documentation.
• Exposure to scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
• Knowledge of building automation systems or HVAC controls.
• OSHA 30 certification required; if not current, training provided and completed in first week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating day-to-day execution of BAS/controls projects with schedules and customer requirements.
• Manage defined scopes of work or smaller projects under supervision.
• Support development and maintenance of project schedules with milestones.
• Obtain, organize, and maintain project documentation including contracts and drawings.
• Assist in reviewing submittals and drawing packages prior to field execution.
• Maintain accurate project records in DivPro with notes, milestones, and billing support data.
• Coordinate subcontractors and controls technicians for assigned scopes.
• Support commissioning activities by tracking progress.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and document field conditions.
• Track purchase orders, change orders and project expenses.
• Assist with review of technician timecards for alignment with project work.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on progress, risks and issues.
