Job summary

Harris County is seeking a maintenance and controls technician to monitor and service automated HVAC systems. You will analyze, troubleshoot, and repair controls, sensors, and wiring, ensuring uninterrupted operation across facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, startup of new systems, and coordinating with subcontractors. Requires a high school diploma and 2 years of experience with building controls; travel up to 25% may occur.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical drawings.
• Effective communication of progress, status and issues to customers.
• Must be able to bend, lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic preventative maintenance on HVAC controls and coordinate with OEM.
• Troubleshoot and repair field wiring, sensors, controllers, and communications.
• Perform root cause analysis of malfunctions and recommend improvements.
• Startup and commissioning of new systems and functions.
• Coordinate work with installation subcontractors to meet deadlines and codes.
• Perform a point-to-point checkout per standard procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
