Job summary

Harris County is seeking an on-site Controls Technician responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting automated HVAC control systems to maintain production uptime. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with OEMs, and assist with startup and commissioning of new systems.

A background with AHUs, chillers, and complex building controls is required, along with strong communication skills. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, travel up to 25%, and flexibility to work varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience working with controls.
• High school diploma, GED equivalency.
• Knowledge of AHU’s, chiller plants, complex fan systems, and building controls head-ends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor control systems of automated equipment and troubleshoot to avoid production interruptions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate with OEM for repairs.
• Troubleshoot field wiring, sensors, controllers, and communications issues.
• Perform root cause analysis of HVAC controls malfunctions and suggest improvements.
• Startup and commissioning of new systems and functions.
• Coordinate with installation subcontractors to complete projects on time and to code.
• Conduct point-to-point checkout per standard procedures.
