Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Automation Engineer to lead master systems integration, BMS programming, and commissioning for large enterprise projects. The role includes on-site and remote support, system checkout, and developing graphics per specifications.

The candidate should have a degree in HVAC/electrical/mechanical or software with 2–5 years of experience, strong Office skills, and the ability to travel up to 30% for site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Must possess core knowledge in three of the following: Building Management Systems, Niagara, Distech Controls, BACnet, Modbus, HVAC Controls, IT Networking, Commissioning, Troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Create complex programming using flow diagrams, sequences of operations and panel layouts.
• Perform programming of control applications using various software tools.
• Perform job-site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
• Confirm proper operation according to project specifications, sales proposal, and design documentation.
• Approve and develop system graphic displays, according to project specifications or sales proposals.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
• Perform multifaceted system evaluation and diagnostics.
• Isolate and troubleshoot escalated problems and take corrective action.
• Document problem resolution and report findings back to Project team for customer follow-up.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Have broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Support the management of software tools.
• Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
• Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
