Job summary

Baker Group is seeking an experienced Automation Professional to provide start-up, programming, and commissioning for building automation systems. You will work with design engineers and field staff to install PLC/DDC components, calibrate sensors, and ensure proper network integration.

You will mentor technicians, lead projects, and help manage QA/QC and commissioning logs on construction sites while interpreting SOOs and writing control logic across ladder, ST, and function block languages.

Qualifications

• Four to seven years of automation-related field experience.
• Associate degree in Electronics, Technology, or Automation or equivalent on‑the‑job experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and operation engineers, purchasers and staff.
• Start-up of microprocessor-based control components including PLC and DDC controllers.
• Interpret SOO and apply to program logic; read/write ladder logic, ST and function block logic.
• Mentor and oversee Automation Technicians I and II; lead medium to large projects.
• Perform point-to-point checkout of wiring, wiring grounding, polarity and power; calibrate sensors and devices.
• Upload/download and modify control software; manage networking (IP addresses, subnets, MACs).
• Create and troubleshoot automation networks and graphics; map control points to supervisory controllers and graphics.
