Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation Project Engineer to perform basic technical and project management duties under supervision. You will develop advanced system designs, collaborate with senior staff to prepare deliverables, and ensure quality through QA/QC reviews.

You will help manage timelines and budgets, advise clients on service offerings, and strive to meet utilization goals while maintaining project scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field required, or similar experience.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in engineering design and consulting for tenant improvement projects, new construction buildings, central plant work, existing facility upgrades or related markets.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft programs/tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develops advanced systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision; includes offering solutions to general technical problems.
• Works with senior project designers/engineers to prepare project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work.
• Follows the quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager: contributes plans to complete tasks within timeline and budget; identifies required precursors from other disciplines.
• Fully understands and advises clients of company’s service offerings.
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing priorities affecting scope/schedule/budget.
• Develops understanding of company’s accounting and project management systems.
• Participates in the engineering/professional community to build knowledge and growth (meetings/seminars/conferences).
