Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Controls Systems Technician 1 to commission building automation systems and troubleshoot HVAC controls on-site. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality service, quick issue resolution, and clear customer communication in a dynamic environment.

Candidates should have a two-year degree (or equivalent experience) and be proficient with HVAC controls software. On-site work with a strong safety focus and opportunities for training are offered.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar, or 2+ years industry experience.
• HVAC controls systems knowledge; facilities management systems; site prep and servicing techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain technical info to diverse audiences.
• Leadership to support mechanics on non-complex projects.
• PC proficiency and ability to program HVAC-related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and provide high-level service to reduce inefficiencies.
• Provide quotes and solutions to customers; act as trusted advisor during service.
• Document commissioning steps and communicate progress with customers and subcontractors.
