Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Controls Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems. You will mentor technicians, ensure high customer satisfaction, and provide on-site expert advice and training on control systems.

The role requires 4+ years in HVAC commercial controls troubleshooting, an associate degree or technical training, and strong communication and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of commercial controls troubleshooting in HVAC.
• Vocational school or associate degree in a technical field, or two years’ related experience.
• Ability to service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Strong communication to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Proficient writing skills and understanding of software applications.
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs complex control system malfunctions across various software languages.
• Consults with customers, provides field proposals for retrofits and upgrades.
• Manages work to ensure professional, timely execution and customer satisfaction.
• Provides field sketches for engineering corrections and drawings.
• Communicates on arrival and before leaving the site; upsells services.
• Trains technicians on building automation systems and safety standards.
• Compiles project documentation and close-out materials.
