Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Systems Technician 1 to join our California-based building automation team. The role focuses on system commissioning, diagnosing basic HVAC controls issues, and delivering high-quality on-site service to customers.

Qualifications include a 2-year degree or equivalent HVAC experience, knowledge of control systems, strong communication, and the ability to program HVAC software. Safety and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, or air conditioning.
• 2 years of industry experience or servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems and facilities management systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people; leadership to support technicians.
• PC experience and the ability to program HVAC related software.

Responsibilities

• Performs system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Troubleshoots basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Responds to basic warranty calls and provides solutions to improve building efficiency.
• Loads system-level controller software and conducts commissioning and diagnostics from controllers to end devices.
• Keeps management, contractors, and customers informed of progress and issues.
• Calibrates systems with basic electronic test equipment and completes documentation.
