Build Smarter Buildings. Take Control of Your Career.
We're looking for an experienced Building Automation Controls Technician who knows how to do more than troubleshoot HVAC equipment. We need someone who can program, configure, commission, and optimize Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) to keep commercial facilities operating at peak performance.
If you're the person everyone calls when a controller won't communicate, a sequence of operations isn't working, or a building automation system needs programming from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
We specialize in commercial building automation, energy management, and HVAC control solutions, supporting new construction, system upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing service.
This is a hands-on, onsite/field-based position serving the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.
Program, configure, modify, and troubleshoot BAS/BMS systems, controllers, and HVAC control sequences.
Set up new control systems, configure devices, and support system integration from installation through commissioning.
Troubleshoot and optimize HVAC controls, including sensors, actuators, control loops, and system performance.
Perform system startups, functional testing, calibration, commissioning, and ongoing optimization.
Diagnose communication failures involving control networks, low-voltage wiring, and IP-based connectivity.
Install, wire, configure, replace, and reprogram controllers, sensors, and associated control devices.
Perform software updates, system backups, database maintenance, and controller configuration.
Support building automation upgrades, expansions, retrofits, and new construction projects.
Interpret system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.
Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
Hands-on experience programming and configuring Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) — not just monitoring or operating them.
Strong experience with HVAC controls, building automation troubleshooting, and system setup.
Familiarity with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or Trane.
Ability to troubleshoot control logic, controllers, communication networks, sensors, and electrical systems.
Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring, control circuits, and IP-based networks.
Experience using electrical meters, diagnostic equipment, and field service tools.
Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple service calls independently.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to complete pre-employment background and drug screening requirements.
Comfortable working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders, and commercial jobsite environments.
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent industry training.
Experience with BAS programming software, control sequences, system integration, and commissioning.
Experience supporting commercial HVAC automation projects, retrofits, or service operations.
Competitive compensation based on experience and certifications.
Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Paid vacation and paid federal holidays.
401(k) with company match.
Company gas card and company card for authorized business expenses.
Long-term career growth opportunities within an established building automation organization.
Opportunities to work with advanced HVAC control technologies and commercial automation systems.
Ready to Put Your BAS Programming Skills to Work?
We're looking for technicians who take pride in solving complex automation problems, delivering reliable system performance, and making buildings smarter.
